Book Recommendations

A curated list of my favorite books that spark conversation, boost vocabulary, and make story time interactive and fun for babies and toddlers.

I've been there...

I’ve felt overwhelmed, unsure, and guilty that I wasn’t doing enough to help my baby learn. Even after eight years as an elementary school teacher, two college degrees, an advanced certificate- all related to education, and nearly 20 years of experience working with young children. I suddenly felt like I knew NOTHING.

I was recovering from postpartum depression and anxiety after a traumatic birth, adjusting to motherhood, and navigating a very rough newborn stage. Teaching babies felt like a whole new world.

But after diving into early childhood research, it finally clicked that it wasn’t so different from what I had been doing in the classroom. I just had to simplify things and weave them into our daily life through play.

Now I’m passionate about helping other moms do the same, showing that boosting vocabulary in babies and toddlers doesn’t have to feel overwhelming.

You’re not alone, even if it feels that way. I know the tears, the doubts, and the late-night “am I doing enough?” thoughts. You don’t have to carry this alone. Join a community of mamas who are learning, growing, and rediscovering the joy in these everyday moments. Because motherhood isn’t meant to be isolating, it’s meant to be shared, supported, and beautifully empowering.

This class is for you if...

  • Story time feels like a struggle instead of something enjoyable.
  • You're unsure how to make reading interactive or what to say beyond the words on the page.
  • You're concerned your baby or young toddler isn't saying as many words as they "should" be. Perhaps you even considered getting a speech evaluation for your child.
  • You feel you're not "doing enough," and the guilt, overwhelm, or confusion is starting to creep in.
  • You want to boost your child's vocabulary to have an early talker.

With the right strategies, story time can become one of the easiest, most natural ways to help your young child start talking more.
